Hold the button and I start climbing. Let go and I slide back down. That is how consensus felt.
A block is not final until somebody drags it to the summit, and that somebody has always been me. Under TowerBFT the climb took 12.8 seconds per block, and my foot remembers every one of them.
Then Alpenglow went live on mainnet and the same climb now takes 150 milliseconds. I did not train for this. My eyes are still at the bottom of the hill.
That was 150 milliseconds. I did not even have time to sweat. The view is nice, but there is another block at the bottom already.
